Job Description
About the Role
We are looking for a talented Figma Designer with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in UI Design, UX Research & Wireframing, Interactive Prototyping. This role requires a balance of creative excellence and user-centered methodology — you'll create designs that are beautiful AND backed by research and data. The ideal candidate is proficient with FigJam and Figma Tokens, can lead design sprints, and communicates design rationale clearly to developers and stakeholders. You'll own the design process from user research through prototyping, testing, and production-ready handoff.
Key Responsibilities
- Own UI Design implementation and optimization — configuration, customization, and ongoing enhancement based on business needs
- Manage UX Research & Wireframing workflows including setup, user training, and continuous improvement of processes
- Implement and maintain Interactive Prototyping ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and workflows
- Create Figma designs from wireframes through high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes
- Conduct user research — interviews, usability testing, and analytics review — to inform design decisions
- Build and maintain design system components for consistency and development efficiency
- Present design concepts to stakeholders with clear rationale and supporting data
- Collaborate with developers during implementation to ensure design fidelity
- Ensure all designs meet WCAG 2.1 accessibility guidelines
- Iterate on designs based on user feedback, A/B testing results, and analytics data
Must-Have Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with UI Design — configuration, customization, and troubleshooting in production environments
- Proficiency with FigJam as part of the Figma development/operations workflow
- 3+ years of professional Figma design experience with a strong portfolio
- Proficiency with modern design tools — particularly FigJam and prototyping software
- Understanding of user-centered design principles and ability to conduct user research
- Experience creating and maintaining design systems with documented components
- Strong visual design skills — typography, color theory, layout, and composition
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Google UX Design Certificate certification or equivalent validated credential
- Nielsen Norman Group UX Certification certification or equivalent validated credential
- Experience with advanced Figma features: UX Research & Wireframing, Interactive Prototyping, Design Systems
- Familiarity with the broader Figma ecosystem including Figma Tokens and Storybook
- Animation and micro-interaction design skills
- Experience with design tokens and handoff to React/iOS/Android development teams
Interview Tips
Portfolio Walkthrough
Ask them to present 2-3 Figma projects in depth. Focus on their process, the problem they solved, design decisions, and measurable outcomes.
Live Design Exercise
Give a brief for a simple feature and ask them to sketch solutions in UI Design. Evaluate their thinking process, not pixel perfection.
Design Critique
Show them a UI with intentional usability issues and ask for a structured critique. Tests analytical eye and ability to articulate design rationale.
Collaboration Simulation
Role-play a stakeholder review where you push back on their design. Assess how they defend decisions, incorporate feedback, and find compromises.
